This is the mini alvin wall inside one section of the big alvin wall. we designed the entire wall to the measurements of one of the boxes of the big wall. it fits very nicely within one of the boxes.

This is our mini wall, full assembled with the new connector pieces. we used the blue foam as a background to better understand the solids and voids of our wall, and how the lighting might work when behind it.

These are the new kit of parts for the mini alvin wall that myself, allison, julie and brad designed and assembled. Our first attempt at our mini wall we used primarily matt board, glue and dowel rods to keep the pieces together. we found that each individual connector was incredibly way too heavy compared to the wall itself. Also, without the use of plexi-glass for the front and back piece, you were unable to visually see how the wall is put together, and how it connects. So for our 2nd (well actually our 3rd, but whos counting haha) we removed the center of the connectors to subtract weight, and added plexi-glass as the front & back piece to add an aesthetic to the wall as well as a better knowledge of how it is put together. We also chose screws to keep the connectors together, which we found worked very well because if we needed to add or subract any layers to provide a tighter fit, we could without the use of glue.
