Working on the Power supply problem posed by using batteries. I think disassembling a USB hub is going to work the best. One problem to work out is the amperes, input is over one amp which is very high for devices that are normally battery operated, ampere readings may change after the hub splits, I'd expect that voltage will remain at 5VDC

  1. how did yu determine 1 amp draw from the usb output?

  2. The input was labeled at drawing 1.2 amp, so at 5 volts, its a measly 6 watts, so I really shouldn't have worried. I think CPUs can handle more than that and they are delicate. I wish my mutlimeter was a better model, it really doesn't work well enough to be reliable.
